Our Projects

Tâmega hydroelectric complex is a system composed by three dams and three hydroelectric power plants. Two of them are placed onth Tamega river (Daivões y Alto Tâmega)and the third one on the Torno river (Gouvães). (Portugal)

Works description:

Daivões: Typology: Gravity dam. Height: 78 m, Power installed: 118 MW, penstocks: 2 units x Ø5,6m - Length: 280/290 m, Concrete volume: 240.000 m3, crest length: 265 m. River bypass tunnel: 384 m.

Gouvães: Typology: Gravity dam. Height: 30 m, Power installed: 880 MW, Galleries and return tunnel: 4 units x Ø3,8m + 1 unit x Ø7,3m - Length: 813 m, penstocks: 1 unit x Ø6m + 1 unit x Ø5,4m + 2 units x Ø3,8m + 4 units x Ø2,8m - Length: 2.154 m, Concrete volume: 40.000 m3. River bypass tunnel: 260 m

Alto Tâmega: Typology: Arch dam. Height: 107 m, Power installed: 160 MW, Penstocks: 2 units x Ø4,6m -Length: 50/50m, Concrete volume: 220.000 m3, crest length: 335 m. River bypass tunnel: 260 m.

Works performed:

-    Formwork works, with own formwork and personnel.

-    Constructive proposal, including calculates and design with own engineering.

-    Concrete works.

-    Manufacture, supply and installation of steel reinforcement.

-    Daivões:

• Execution of intake and dam. (240.000m3)
• Execution of river bypass tunnel. (384 m.l.)
• Exection of stilling pool.(41.000 m3)
• Penstocks. (2 units x Ø5,6m - Length 280/290m.

-    Gouvães:

• Execution of intake and dam. (40.000m3)
• Galleries and return tunnel: 4 units x Ø3,8m + 1 ud x Ø7,3 m - Length: 813 m,
• Penstocks: 1 unit x Ø6 m + 1 unit x Ø5,4 m + 2 units x Ø3,8 m + 4units x Ø2,8 m - Length 2.154 m.

-    Alto Tâmega:

• Construction of river bypass tunnel of Alto Tâmega dam. 260 m.
